District lines do not follow city limits, so two apartment communities in the same city can be zoned to different districts. Before signing a lease:
- Look up the exact unit address in the district’s official boundary or school-locator tool.
- Ask the leasing office which district the property is zoned to, and confirm it with the district.
- Check the district’s enrollment rules and deadlines, since boundaries and transfer policies can change from year to year.
Commute and Location Considerations
These districts sit in very different parts of the metro. Westlake and the Lake Travis area are west of downtown along Loop 360, Bee Cave Road and SH 71, while the Round Rock ISD and Leander ISD areas are north and northwest along I-35, MoPac, US 183 and the 183A Toll Road. Compare drive times from a specific property to your regular destinations at the times you would actually travel.
